There were many in my life, but only you could make my heart contort into a fist and beat so hard that it hurt to be near you. It hurt to see you smile and wave in such a carefree manner as you strolled through the crowded hallways. It was both overwhelming and intriguing to watch the way your mouth moved when you spoke; I could picture those very lips on my own. My eyes were always drawn to your face. You were handsome, but it was always your expressions which compelled me to stare; your face always became alive and animated when you told me a story. It hurt to love you the most in those moments. You were like a young child full of life and love. But I couldn’t offer you anything. My love for you made both of us suffer. I can still remember the hurt in your eyes as I looked away one day, not being able to face your smile. Sometimes I go down to the shore alone and watch the waves come in.
