Our Place I walked by that place again today. That old place where we used to go to try and escape the world. I felt truly at home when I was in the place with you. I lived for those days. I would die for those nights. I can still remember the feeling of the hard ground and how uncomfortable it should have been but it wasn’t because I was lying with you. I can still feel the scar on my knee from when you accidentally pushed me down and then took all the pain away with one embrace. I can still remember how fast my heart was beating the first time you kissed me there because I was too shy to make the first move. Our names are still engraved on that bench, the stereotypical initials encircled by a heart. I ran my fingers over them today. I didn’t cry. I didn’t break down. I just remembered.
