I’m inside my apartment, and it’s a Saturday morning. I’m enjoying the style section of the Times whilst drinking a coffee. Unbeknownst to me at the cafe on the corner, next to the park on my block a young woman and her friend sit enjoying the morning. They have already placed their orders, and sit waiting.
A strange feeling comes over me, a wave. Something akin to nausea, although not so unpleasant. The young women’s orders have arrived. One, the one with the piercing blue eyes, with a shock of red hair has received her milkshake.
Suddenly I take off my glasses and put down my newspaper. Some force is driving me to the door of my apartment, which I forget to close. I make my way down stairs and into the street. I am drawn into the presence of these women.
Her milkshake has brought me into the yard.
