She was like the sunshine for me. Clear as day.
She moved into and out of the light, arose and laid down to the morning as easily as moon wanes and waxes tomorrow. She took me, and applied the best that I had to offer and when I didn’t think that I had it, she always, always coaxed it out of me.
To the Christian observer she was a miracle worker, the way she did things. It was effortless the way that she could turn events from what I had planned to what she knew, I could achieve.
In her arms I was never afraid, and I never doubted. Now, here I lay in this bed, the one where she used to sleep on the inside and I hold my pillow like she were between my arms.
Those goddamned flowers are still in the vase I made for her, dead, lifeless, turned down waiting to be taken out. But I can’t. And if you were me, you couldn’t either.
